Jimi!

Jimi Hendrix has always been a musical hero of mine. I wanted to capture the melancholy soulfulness that I love about his music and still express the feeling of excited frenzy that accompanies him. I’ve had a lot op people ask about the hair… yes, it’s a little more inspired by my daughter than the standard Jimi hairdo.

This painting lights up a room. The vibrant yellow contrasting with the stark, wild black hair. I may have to do more paintings of Jimi down the line.
